Troubleshooting

The add-on doesn’t appear in the Extensions menu

The add-on lives in the Extensions menu in Google Slides’ top menu bar. If it’s missing, reload the browser tab — a document that was already open when you installed the add-on won’t show it until refreshed. Also make sure you’re signed in with the same Google account you used to install it.

On a work or school account, your Workspace administrator may need to allow the add-on before it shows up.

The sidebar is blank or stuck loading

This is almost always caused by being signed in to several Google accounts at once — Google may then run the add-on under the wrong account. Sign out of the other accounts, or open the document in an incognito window (or a browser profile) with only one account, and try again.

Also check that your browser or an extension isn’t blocking pop-ups or third-party cookies — the sidebar needs them to load.

The add-on stopped working or shows an error

A clean reinstall fixes most problems:

  1. In the document, open Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons and uninstall the add-on.
  2. In your Google account permissions, remove the add-on’s access to reset its authorization.
  3. Reinstall it from the Google Workspace Marketplace and authorize it again.

Your license is tied to your Google account, so it comes back automatically after reinstalling. Still stuck? Email me at olivier@toolbow.com and describe what happens.

I paid but my license isn’t active

Activation is automatic and usually takes less than 3 minutes — close and reopen the add-on to refresh it.

If it’s still locked, check that the email address you entered at checkout is the same Google account you use with the add-on — the license is linked to that address. Paid with a different email? Write to olivier@toolbow.com with the address you paid with and your Google account, and I’ll activate your license manually.

Frequently asked questions

What does the “Organize” / auto-layout feature do?
It stacks your selected objects into a clean row or column with a consistent gap, anchored to any of nine points via a 3×3 grid, so you can rebuild a tidy layout in one click.
Can I make several objects the same size?
Yes. Copy the size from one object and apply width, height, or both to any number of others.
What are spacing tokens?
A reusable spacing scale (16, 24, 32 pt by default, fully editable) so every gap in your deck follows the same system. Your tokens are saved between sessions.
Does it work on any Google Slides presentation?
Yes. Auto Layout & Grid runs as a Google Slides add-on. No export, no third-party software. Open your deck, launch the add-on, and arrange.
Is my presentation data safe?
Auto Layout & Grid only reads and modifies the presentation you’re working on. We don’t store, share, or transmit your data.
What is Grid Layout?
Grid Layout snaps your selected objects into a grid you define — columns, rows, gap and margin. Pick the exact cells to fill, save grids as reusable presets, and apply in one click. Images keep their aspect ratio; grouped objects scale without distortion.
